The Play That Goes Wrong is a farcical, murder mystery, play-within-a-play, conceived and originally performed by award-winning company Mischief – now adapted specially for high school performers. This 1920s show goes from bad to utterly disastrous when the leading lady goes unconscious, a corpse won’t play dead, and the actors trip over everything (including their lines). Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award-winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter!
“We chose The Play That Goes Wrong because it opens the door for improvisation and really emphasizes physical comedy, giving the students a chance to take creative risks and make bold performance choices. In my second year with the theatre department, the season has been bittersweet as we say goodbye to four graduating seniors. Each of them is tremendously talented, collaborative, and brave. It has been a privilege to watch the ideas they bring to their characters and the life they give to the play.”
Showtimes will be Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. All performances will be in the Argyle Cafetorium.
