
ANNA TISCH, a former Pecatonica High School athlete, produced points last weekend for the University of Mary (ND) women’s track team. Tisch, a sophomore sprinter/hurdler, secured six points by finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Marauders Outdoor Opener. She crossed the finish line in 1 minute 4.15 seconds, helping the Marauders claim the top four spots. Tisch was also one of 17 sprinters in the 200m where she finished 11th with a new personal best time of 26.63. The Marauders finished runner up to Dickinson State University (ND) in the six-team meet. UMary will be in Montana this weekend to compete in the Yellowjacket Open hosted by MSU Billings.

AVA WIEGEL, a former Argyle High School athlete, played in two games last week for the Beloit College softball team. Wiegel, a freshman C/1B, collected one hit in seven at bats for the Buccaneers as they defeated Rockford College (III), 5-2, but fell to the University of Dubuque (Ia) 9-2. In the loss to the Spartans, Wiegel led off the fourth inning with a single to right field and then was lifted for a pinch runner. Beloit (2-16, 0-0) hosts Carroll University on Saturday at Strong Field before traveling to Kenosha on Sunday to play Carthage College.

ELIJAH KNUTSON, a former Pecatonica High School athlete, played in two games for the Wisconsin Lutheran baseball team last weekend. Knutson, a 5-foot 10-inch sophomore catcher, went a collective 1-for- 6 against Cornell College (Ia) with three walks and a run scored. The walks and run came in a 12-7 loss to the Rams, while a first-inning single was part of a 4-3 loss last Sunday. WLC (4-9, 0-0) hosts Edgewood University on Thursday and Benedictine University (III) on Saturday with road games at Carroll University on Thursday and at St. Norbert University next Tuesday.

JAMESON JOHNSON, a former Pecatonica High School athlete, helped power the Rock Valley College (Ill) baseball team to victory last week. Johnson, a 6-2 sophomore UTL, had a pair of RBI singles and four walks to go along with a pair of runs scored as the Golden Eagles swept Carl Sandburg College (III), 8-4 and 15-4. He also stole a base in each game against the Chargers. RVC (9-7, 0-0) plays at Milwaukee Area Technical College and Elgin Community College on Thursday and Friday, respectively, before hosting Prairie State College (III) on Sunday.
