Elections on all village, school, county boards

Argyle, Blanchardville, and Hollandale villages, algon with the Argyle and Pecatonica Area school district board’s of education and the county boards of Iowa, Green, and Lafayette will all have candidates on the April 7 ballot. The only contested race will be in the Pecatonica Area School Board but there will be plenty of new faces on the other boards as well. In order to learn more about who those candidates are, the Pecatonica Valley Leader reached out to those on the ballot to have them answer some questions. Throughout this week’s newspaper and next will be their answers.

Theose running for the three seats on the Argyle Village Board are Garry Rossing, Penny Monahan and Colton Plossel. Joe Schutte is running unopposed for the Village President’s seat; on the Argyle School Board are incumbents Derek Zimmerman and Stephanie Holmes for their own seats.

In Blanchardville, the village board has incumbents Kimmie Marty and Neal Klassy. New on the ballot is Greg Waldoch running for the last seat, after Mark Emberson indicated he would not be running again.

On the Pecatonica Area School Board, there are all four new candidates running for the three open seats: Marsha Crooks, Megan Leonard, Mark Hazlitt, and Steve Acheson.

In Hollandale, Carl Olson is running for his seat and Austin Parks is running for the open seat.

There are no contested races in the county seats for the area: Ricky Rolfsmeyer for District 13 in Iowa County, Kristy Leonard for District 14 in Green County and Jed Gant in District 8 and Joe Schutte in District 9 for Lafayette County.

The Leader did not ask any of the township board candidates questions but there are candidates running for those positions in townships covered by The Leader in Adams, Argyle, Blanchard, Moscow, and York.

The Leader was not notified of any write-in candidates but a write-in candidate could be ergo, written in on the ballot.

The Pecatonica Area School District asked their own questions to those candidates running for the school board. Their answers to those questions can be found on page 5.
