Hannah Esch drove in four runs on three hits to lead Barneveld past Pecatonica 14-0 on Tuesday in a Six Rivers East game.
Esch hit a home run to left field in the fourth scoring two, singled in the first scoring one, and singled in the second scoring one.
Esch also went the distance in the shutout win. She struck out 11 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up four hits and no runs over five innings while walking none.
The Golden Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Addison Carden doubled down the left field line, Esch singled to center field, and Norton grounded out, each scoring one run.
Barneveld scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. Esch singled, scoring one run, Walker grounded out, scoring one run, Aleea Norton singled, scoring one run, Isabel Pohlman drew a walk, scoring one run, and Reagan Knight singled, scoring three runs.
The Golden Eagles added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Addison Carden homered to left field, and Norton singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Barneveld scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a home run to left field by Esch.
Sam Hittesdorf took the loss for the Vikings. She went four innings, surrendering 14 runs (11 earned) on 15 hits, striking out none and walking three.
The Golden Eagles amassed 15 hits in the game. Aleea Norton, Lauren Reese, Addison Carden, and Eliza Gordon each collected two hits for Barneveld. Adding a hit for the Eagles was Sydnie Goebel.
Katelynne Jorenby led Pecatonica with a 2×2 day at the plate. The other two Vikings hits came from Greta Schraepfer and Jenna Kurschner.
