The Argyle Community Parks Foundation was pleased to accept a $10,000 grant from Campion’s Champions.
Monsignor Thomas F. Campion, affectionately known to many as “TC,” humbly served Monroe and Southwestern Wisconsin for more than forty years as a champion for the needs of the disabled. This donation to the Argyle Community Parks Foundation will continue his legacy of inclusive design. The grant will directly support the Foundation’s effort to construct a new playground at Argyle Legion Community Park, with many inclusive elements. A park that is thoughtfully designed to ensure children of all abilities can play, explore, and connect side by side. Planned features include accessible swings and improved surfacing to accommodate mobility devices, ultimatley creating a space where no child is left on the sidelines.
“This grant is incredibly meaningful to our organization and to our community,” said Kayla Emberson. “It’s not just about building a playground-it’s about building a place where every person feels welcome, and every family feels included. Campion’s Champions is helping us turn that vision into reality.”
The playground project is part of a broader effort to revitalize Argyle Legion Community Park as a hub for recreation, connection, and community pride. With a phase one project goal of $250,000, the Foundation has made significant progress through local donations, sponsorships, and grants, and continues to work toward closing the remaining funding gap. Campion’s Champions is dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, making this partnership a natural fit. Their investment underscores the importance of inclusive community spaces, particularly in rural areas where such amenities can be limited.
Community members and local businesses have played a critical role in advancing the project, and the Foundation encourages continued support through donations, event sponsorships, and in-kind work. Construction is anticipated to begin once final funding is secured, with the goal of opening the playground before the start of the school year, Fall 2026. The Argyle Community Parks Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Campion’s Champions for their generosity and for honoring Monsignor Campion’s enduring legacy in such a meaningful way.
