The Pecatonica High School and the Pecatonica Booster Club is pleased to accept nominations for the Pecatonica Vikings Athletic Hall of Fame beginning May 1, 2026.
A nominee should be a person who has had a positive and significant impact to Pecatonica Athletics over the years.
The nominee may have been an athlete, coach, fan, volunteer or in some capacity that has affected Pecatonica Athletics.
Nominations must be received by no later than the final deadline of Wednesday, June 15, 2026. Nominations received after June 15, 2026 will be reviewed the following year.
A committee will evaluate all nominations and select the inductee(s) for the year.
If a nominee is not selected, the nomination will stay in the rotation for future consideration.

.Introduced at the 2026 Homecoming Pep Rally
. Ride in the 2026 Homecoming Parade
.Introduced at the 2026 Alumni Banquet
·Receive an individual plaque and also have their name placed on the Vikings Athletic Hall of Fame plaque displayed at school
.Featured in the Pecatonica Valley Leader
Individuals who are inducted into the Vikings Athletic Hall of Fame will be notified in July and additional information will be given to them at the time regarding the actual induction ceremony.
Pecatonica has a long, rich athletic history. It takes a great deal of time and effort to continue the success of the programs starting with the youth programs up thru high school.
Many individuals from all time periods – Blanchardville School, Hollandale School, and the current Pecatonica School District – have had significant impact on shaping Pecatonica Athletics.
The Vikings Athletic Hall of Fame was designed to recognize those individuals.
Inaugural Class of 2015 ‘Charter Class’ members included Joslyn Gant, Kathy Gilbertson, Linda Hanson, Jim Kinder, Mitch Wainwright, Brian “Butch” Mckeon, Tami (Norton) Syse, Gene Spellman and Gary Mckenzie.
The following inductees included: Class of 2016 – Chuck Chandler, Milt Hendrickson, Steph (Jorenby) Kleppe-Moore, Todd Paradis, Patrick Ryan and Elise Sigg.
Class of 2017 – Jim Carter, Kensel Disrud, Herbie Dobson, Jaime Hegland, Andrew Hendrickson, Barb Kapke-Ruegsegger and Bob McNeill, Sr.
Class of 2018 – Christie Balch, Farron Gruenenfelder, Gene Palzkill, Tracy Powell, Larry Syftestad and Steve Willborn.
Class of 2019 – Don Disrud, Angie Gruenenfelder, Tom Kammerude, Larry Larson, Ardell Lunda and Joe Spellman.
Class of 2020 – Lee Fahrney, Jon Gruenenfelder, Sue Jeglum, Melvin Kleppe, Dan Schober and Frank Unterholzner.
Class of 2021 – Craig Anderson, Dick Gifford, Patrick Hardyman, JimMcCaulley and Herb Von Arx.
Class of 2022 – Corine Montanye, Ernie Furrer, Jim Kitsemble, Jerome Hendrickson and Sam Schuler.
Class of 2023 – Scott Ingwell, Diane Hanson, Duane Schober and Mandy Peterson.
Class of 2024 – Cher (Chandler) Schliem, Dan Hendrickson, Gary Leonard, Joe Burkeland and Ray Sherman.
Class of 2025 – Alfred Zimmerman, Bill Hardyman, Chuck Meyer, Jerry Whitford and Jim Strommen.
