One man is dead after a tractor he was driving rolled over and pinned him.
Arthur Karl “Karl” Pustina, 70, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Iowa County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office press release, Iowa County Dispatch was alerted to a male subject pinned under a tractor at a residence located on County Road M in the town of Dodgeville at approximately 6:28 Sunday, April 26.
Deputies, along with Dodgeville EMS and Dodgeville Fire Department, and UW MedFlight responded to the 911 call. Upon arrival, first responders located Pustina, trapped beneath the equipment.
Despite extensive life-saving measures efforts by emergency personnel, Pustina was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Pustina was pulling a disabled tractor with another tractor when the tractor he was operating overturned, pinning him underneath.
“I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and all those affected by this tragic accident. Mr. Pustina, who was known as Karl, was a well-known and valued member of the community and will be missed,” said Sheriff Michael Peterson.
The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office. No additional details are being released at this time.
