Mazie Theorin is the Pecatonica Area Class of 2026 Valedictorian. She is the daughter of Chris and Marissa Theorin and sister to Kyle. She plans on attending UW-Madison in the fall and majoring in Neurobiology.
She chose this major because the brain and nervous system are incredibly fascinating to her and she has had the opportunity to take multiple classes that pique this interest even more throughout high school. Additionally, her personal experiences have given her the drive to do whatever she can to contribute to the medical field, especially as it relates to the brain and other neurological disorders.
Mazie’s favorite subjects in school were sciences, especially Anatomy and Physiology, AP Psychology and Zoology, and music, both high school band and being a teacher’s assistant for middle school band.
One of her favorite and greatest memories from school includes the honors bands that she participated in – especially all of the Tri-State Honors Bands at UW-Platteville that she has attended with some of her closest friends.
When asked to provide advice to underclassman, Mazie said, “Recognize your achievements; you deserve to be proud of yourself!”
