Raiders cruise in win over Beavers

Argyle could not find a way to stay with Belleville Sunday as the Raiders cruised to a 13-1 in a Western Section match-up.

Seven runs in the sixth inning made the major difference in the game’s outcome.

The Beavers plated a run in the second inning on a Miken Godfrey double.

The Raiders took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the third on rbi singles by Sam Urqhart, Logan Ludlum, and Brock Gilkes.

The Raiders added seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. The runs scored when Matt Everson singled, Davis Halbleib singled, and Jacob Sheahan powered a three run homer to left field. Before the frame ended Derek Baumgartner singled, for a run, and another run scored on score creative base running.

Cale Weeden took the loss for the Beavers. He went all six innings, giving up 13 runs on 15 hits, striking out six and walking seven.

Godfrey led the Beavers in rbis with one on his double. Cooper Dreyfus, Jayden Johnson, Godfrey, Ash Milhbauer, and Easton Dreyfus each collected one hit for Beavers.

Belleville amassed 15 hits in the game.
