The MARC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Kim Watrud has been appointed to succeed Suzanne Hanson as Executive Director upon Suzanne’s retirement later this year.
Kim’s passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities began at a young age, learning alongside her sister, Heather, who inspired her lifelong commitment to this work. She has been a MARC employee for 23 years, advancing into positions of increasing leadership responsibility. She spent 12 years at MARC West, 8 of them as Assistant Director, before transitioning to MARC Mt. Horeb, where she has served as Program Director for the past 11 years. Throughout her career, Kim has been a dedicated advocate who truly values the individuals she supports, their families, and her colleagues. Her compassion, leadership, and commitment have made a lasting impact on the MARC community.
Kim shared that “As I prepare to step into the role of Executive Director, I am both honored and excited for the opportunity ahead. I look forward to continuing to build on MARC’s strong foundation by supporting staff, expanding opportunities for those served, and ensuring the organization’s mission remains at the heart of its work. While the transition brings a mix of excitement and reflection, I am grateful for the journey that has led me here and eager to guide MARC into its next chapter.”
