Beavers outscore Aces for West section

The Beavers outhit Argyle 11-5 Saturday and won a Western Section HTL game 8-1.

Max Godfrey drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Beavers. Godfrey doubled in the seventh inning to plate three runs, and singled in the fourth inning knocking in run number four.

On the mound for Argyle at the start was Kylo Barker who struck out 12 batters on the day. He allowed five hits and one run over seven innings while walking six.

A walk to Barker put Argyle on the board in the bottom of the first.

Nate Jennings took the loss for Arena. He worked four innings, surrendering three runs on six hits, striking out five and walking seven. Patrick Alt threw two innings in relief of zero-run ball for the Beavers with no hits while striking out three and walking two.

The Beavers tallied 11 hits in the game. Leyton Mihlbauer and Ash Milhbauer each had two hits for the Beavers. Cooper Dreyfus, Jayden Johnson, Miken Godfrey and Gavin Johnson completed the attack.

Nate Jennings went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the Aces with one run batted in. Jennings and Adam Spurley each collected two hits for Arena. Sam Maire had he fifth hit.

Nate Jennings and Daniel Yanke each worked four frames for the Aces, striking out five and four.
