Pecatonica’s baseball team gave Belmont a run before the Vikings fell to the Braves 7-5 in a Six Rivers game Friday.
The Vikings scored a run in the fourth when Martin Anderson singled, stole second and came home on a single by Reid Schlimgen.
Trailing 6-1 in the sixth the Vikings sent across four runs to pull within one. Hits by Anderson and Cooper Schraepfer along with two errors helped the Vikings close the gap.
Belmont pushed across an insurance run in the seventh.
The Vikings got a runner on base in the seventh but could not score.
Anderson was 2×4 for Pecatonica. Schlimgen, Ashton McNett and Schraepfer had the rest of the hits.
Austin Enloe, McNett, Schlimgen and Luke Leonard all got a turn on the mound.
