The Argyle Community Parks Foundation is looking for all able bodied people to come to the Argyle American Legion Park on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:30 a.m. to help build and install the brand new playground. This is a project for the entire community and every little bit helps.
No special skills are required. Whether you’re handy with tools or just willing to lend a helping hand, there is a place for everyone. Every volunteer makes a difference, no matter the role.
Things needed are a minimum of 15 adult volunteers to help at all times; a minimum of five drills, battery powered w/extra batteries is good; boom truck for tall spiral slides & hex/oct roofs; 3/8″ drive ratchets (at least six needed); hack saw or reciprocal saw; drill bits of various sizes (1/4″-1/2″); electricity for drills, saws, battery chargers; large channel lock wrench; 2 drift punches; 2 vise grips, C clamps; food/drink for volunteers; 3 step ladders 6′ or taller; come-a-long; 3/8″ nut driver for self-tapping screws; tape measures; 2 rubber mallets; 1/4-5/16″ hex shank adaptor, 3/8″ drives; 4-9/16″ open ended/box wrenches; safety fencing for around area; 2 levels (1 at least 4′ long); restrooms for workers; Allen wrenches; 2 pair of saw horses; shovels, spades, post hole diggers Hand mall or sledge hammer; wheelbarrows for moving concrete 2 pry bars 6-8 10′ 2X4’s for bracing if needed metal tile; containers for sorting hardware; 3 black magic markers; sockets 3/4″ and smaller for 3/8″ drive 3/8″ socket adaptor; 1/4 hex shank magnetic insert bit holder.
When our supervisor arrives on site, the first thing he will do is to check to be sure needed items are available and that the above-mentioned preparations are complete and done accurately. If these requirements are not met we reserve the right to reschedule for a later date with your entity assuming responsibility for the travel expenses incurred by the supervisor on the original date.
