The Blanchardville Police Department organized the first annual Cops and Bobbers a family fishing event on Saturday, July 18 to bring together children and families for fun and some friendly competition. The experience was held at McCoy’s Pond, a private local spot off County Highway F between Blanchardville and Hollandale. Cops and Bobbers is a way for law enforcement to build positive relationships with children and the community – organizers hope to make it an annual event. Youngster William Freymiller of Argyle caught a bluegill alongside his family. More photos on page 7. Photos by Cassie Colson Perenchio for the Pecatonica Valley Leader
