AVA WIEGEL, a former Argyle High School athlete, played in three of four games for the Beloit College softball team last week.

Wiegel, a freshman C/1B, was on base for the Buccaneers in each game she was a part of via a walk.

Wiegel was on a second time in the series opener against Lake Forest College (Ill) after reaching on an error in the fourth inning.

The Buccaneers split with the Foresters, falling 8-1 and winning 10-7, and were shut out against Ripon College, 2-0.

Beloit (4-34, 2-12) plays its final series of the season this weekend at Lawrence University.

JAMESON JOHNSON, a former Pecatonica High School athlete, was part of three wins by the Rock Valley College (Ill) baseball team last week.

Johnson, a 6-2 sophomore UTL, was among the starting nine for the Golden Eagles as they swept Kankakee Community College (III) and split with Black Hawk College-Moline (Ill).

Johnson tripled in a run in the first game against Kankakee, a 14-1 blowout for the Golden Eagles.

RVC (27-14) hosts the College of DuPage (Ill) and the College of Lake County (Ill) on Thursday and Sunday, respectively, with a road series at Sauk Valley Community College (Ill) on Friday.
