Lafayette County residents support family strengthening efforts by wearing blue

Lafayette County Human Services encourages all residents to wear blue on Friday, April 10, 2026, in recognition of Family Strengthening Month.

We believe that together, we can build healthier, safer, and thriving communities for our children. When we focus on strengthening families, the results are better childhoods-leading to healthier adults and stronger communities. Please join us on April 10 by wearing blue to help promote positive childhood experiences in nurturing environments that support children’s physical and mental health, learning, and social development.

Currently, Lafayette County is experiencing a critical need for foster homes. There are local children who need safe, supportive, and caring environments right here in our community. Opening your home-even temporarily-can make a lifelong difference for a child and help keep children connected to their schools, friends, and community.

We encourage individuals and families who have considered fostering to take the next step. Foster parents receive training, guidance, and ongoing support every step of the way. By becoming a foster parent, you are directly strengthening families and building a brighter future for children in Lafayette County.
