Raelee’s piece will be on display at the Oshkosh Museum for the month of July! Congratulations to both students!
The Blanchardville Woman’s Club has proudly supported Pecatonica student artists by taking artwork to the GFWC-WI District and State Conventions for many years. Thank you to art teacher, Nancy Huffman, for
your cooperation in working with the Club to make this happen!
The Helen Mears Art Contest was started in 1927 by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Wisconsin (GFWC-WI) to honor Helen Farnsworth Mears (1871- 1916), who was a famous Oshkosh born sculptor. Her artwork is displayed at the US Capitol, Smithsonian, Madison State Capitol, and other national and state collections. The contest, which is for 2-D Painting/Drawing and 3-D Sculpture, was created to encourage artistic talent and recognize the achievement of student artists.
