Small town ….. BIG SHOW returns to Mckellar Park!

The 40th Annual Cruis’n Wisconsin Car Truck and Cycle show in Blanchardville will take place Sunday July 12th in beautiful Mckellar Park. The show attracts many fine vehicles and vendors from all over Wisconsin, parts of Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota and has grown to be the biggest and longest running show in southwest Wisconsin. The day will provide hundreds of people with the chance to enjoy a great day of collectible vehicles, special features, swap and craft vendors, music, food and beer.

This year’s feature vehicle will be a radically modified 1971 Aston Martin, “Octavia” owned by Eric Johnson and built by the Ringbrothers out of Spring Green Wisconsin. This one you are not going to want to miss! With over 8,000 hours in the build, this is the most google searched car on the internet right now. This entire vehicle is a work or art and engineering and fabrication marvels that must be seen to believe. More information is to come in next week’s article.

This year, we are lucky to have fabricator and shop manager at Ringbrothers, Ryan Fielding being a guest judge and the man behind the build of the Aston Martin. He will be giving you an up close experience and sharing stories of not only this build, but anything gearhead

related. He will be also hand selecting his “Ringbrothers pick” at the show and awarding a Custom Vyper Heavy Duty Shop Chair as an award ($700 value!). And back this year, Wrecktify Collison and Restoration from New Glarus will be displaying some of their current projects. Follow them on Facebook or call them at 608-527-2246 whether you need a scratch fixed, a full restoration or anything in between!

With the park flooding last year, our volunteers managed to move the show to the parking lot with some modifications to the show, hoping to have the show in the grass of the ball fields like usual. Mother nature can’t curse us three years in a row, can she? The show averages over 400 vehicles annually. Spectator admission is good will donation at the gates. If you are entering a vehicle the cost is $10.00, paid by July 8th to Aaron Jorenby and $15.00 at the door the day of the show. For sale and display only vehicles are $10.00 the day of the show. Vehicle registration is from 8:00 a.m. to noon SHARP! The show is open to spectators from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All stock to 2020 and modified to present are welcome to the show and compete for trophies. Over 120 trophies will be awarded in 36 classes with each class receiving 3 “Best of Class” awards and some of the larger classes, 4 or more awards. A big thank you to all of our sponsors for this year’s show which I will address further in next week’s article.

Dash plaques will be given out to the first 300 vehicles entering the show. As always, crafts, swaps and non-food vendors are welcome. A limited amount of merchandise will once again be for sale. Music and commentary will be provided by 3D Sound Company (who is also celebrating their 40th year in business) and is sponsored by Rachael & Rays Pub & Grill in downtown Blanchardville!

The Blanchardville Car Show is sponsored annually by the Blanchardville Community Pride, Inc. and proceeds are donated back to the community. For more information concerning the show, please see the ad in this edition, or contact Aaron Jorenby at 608-523- 4338.
